These materials will allow my students the opportunity to create, engineer, code, and solve real-world challenges in an exciting and engaging manner. My students aspire to be competitive in the FIRST LEGO League season and these materials are a critical component. Students will have a means for creative problem solving, collaboration, and teamwork. As our world becomes more complex, students need to learn how to think critically and solve complex problems; these materials provide an avenue for students to refine these skills. Living in a rural area makes finding opportunities for students to see ‘larger issues’ difficult, but through competing in FIRST LEGO League and the use of these materials, students will engage in problem-solving on a global level, and connect with others outside of their regular environment.
