Aloha from Waimanalo! The students here enjoy soaking up the sun and hanging out at the nearby beach shores of our small town. Although we have a rather small student population, our school plays a very large part in our community. Our school is located in a predominantly rural, low-income neighborhood with a considerable portion of the children of Hawaii and/or Pacific Island ancestry. Students at our school are very easy going and also easy to please. Teaching my students is very rewarding because they are appreciative for even the littlest of things such as: finding an extra binder for a student to have or opening your classroom at recess for a place to work. They are the group of kids that make you want to go above and beyond for.
