Each student has unique needs that require unique tools in order to be successful. In an effort to meet those needs, we are attempting to create a flexible seating workplace that allows every student the freedom to choose the best area and tools that they will use on a daily basis to be successful. While some students prefer to work independently on the floor using floor cushions to define their space, others thrive in a cooperative learning environment that requires movement and talking. Other's still prefer to work in a smaller setting while having the freedom to wiggle around while they work, which the chair bands, floor cushions, and wireless mouse will allow. In order for other students to be successful, their executive functioning skills need to be met. In short, this means that they need to be provided with tools to better help them organize their work place and the space around them. The portable trimmer, magnetic curtain rod and clips, fairy lights,book baskets, drawer unit, pocket chart, and masking tape will allow. My number one priority as an educator is to ensure each student feels comfortable and successful in their learning environment. These supplies will help make that a reality for the students in my classroom by giving them choice, flexibility, and organization.
