I love using technology in our classroom! I make regular use of Chromebooks and my students are exploring many of the collaborative aspects of those, but the addition of tablets would take down many of the barriers that having only the laptop provide. The tablets would be used within my reading and science classes to load with e-books and magazines. This would immediately grow my classroom library by an enormous amount, as it is my mission to grow students into lifelong lovers of reading. Due to our district’s mission of regularly incorporating Project Based Learning into our curriculum, the built in camera would allow for students to be taking pictures around the building to add to projects that they have been working on through Google Slides or Google Docs. I relish the opportunity to show that a tablet is much more than just a way to play games, but can be vital to connect with the world around us. The addition of these tablets would open their eyes to so much and encourage further exploration.
