We need a classroom set of volleyballs that hold air and are of competition quality. Currently we use balls that need inflating daily (or sometimes throughout the day), and are of low quality that sting students' arms and are heavier than a competition style volleyball. In essence, many students struggle to learn to play the game with skill because our volleyballs are challenging to play with and cause frustration. Volleyball is a popular sport in our district and kids often play for fun during lunch time. Kids want to be skilled at the sport, but our current volleyballs are challenging for many students to use easily. By funding a new classroom set, students will improve their skill set as well as be able to engage socially with their peers by confidently jumping into games. I said the project serves hundreds of students because this will impact the entire school as well as classes years in the future. So actually, it probably impacts thousands of students over time.
