My students come from a variety of backgrounds. Many of my students come to first grade ready to read and they are ready for more advanced opportunities to increase their learning. Other students experience difficulties that include readiness skills, developmental reading disabilities, and below standard reading and math skills During the school day my students participate in independent reading, writing and math work while I meet with small groups to provide differentiated instruction. My students are hard workers and they do a fabulous time working alone and I want to provide them with fun and meaningful activities. My school has an amazing group of teachers, parent volunteers and community support. It is a great place to work and learn. Even with the resources we have, we still lack additional funding for classroom supplies and resources.
