This year our classroom is very thankful to be able to use the new Lucy Calkins Reading Workshop curriculum. However with the amazing curriculum comes many suggestions of demonstration, shared reading, and mentor textbooks. These books would only add to the lessons that are being taught unfortunately we do not have several of the titles. The students are enthralled with the new way of learning to read and I would like to provide them with materials that would allow them to explore this thirst for knowledge further. The excitement in their faces when they get even one new book to read makes my heart melt. I cannot imagine how grateful the students would be with all of these texts. With these books they will be able to dig deeper into the lessons that are being taught and gain even more knowledge from each lesson.
