I am in a district that is extremely high need. Most of the families are very poor and the school district does not have very much money. Even though the students are extremely disadvantaged, they still come to school with a smile on their face and are almost always ready to learn. I feel terrible for them because our school is an old one and the resources that we have for the students are few and far between. My students love trying new sports, this is the reason that I have asked for pickle ball equipment. We already have some paddles, but we don't have a net or any balls. The kids really love playing the game, but we don't have a net or any balls. I am only asking for one net because I can make courts out of other materials. My students come to school ready to learn but are often dismayed when they realize that there are so few resources that are available to them.
