We are a second grade dual language class at Janie Stark Elementary eager to quench our thirst for literary knowledge. This dual program offered at Janie Stark allows for the students to learn a second language, be it English or Spanish. Dual language means that my students have half of their daily instruction in English and the other half in Spanish. The Spanish portion of their instruction includes reading, word comprehension and writing. My students are all very enthusiastic learners and have advanced dramatically throughout the year; so much in fact that they have now gone through my Spanish classroom library and most of our Spanish school library more than once.
