My students love their Life Skills class. It's a place where they can be themselves, explore their creative outlets, and at the same time learn essential skills that will benefit them in life. My students are a joy to have and I am so fortunate to get to know them and explore their artistic talents. We are part of an amazing school with awesome teachers who love their students. Unfortunately, we are a school surrounded by low income households. Many students receive assistance, such as free meals and many receive help from our local resource center. I also teach the Special Needs students who need tremendous amounts of modeling and repeated demonstration. Our budget is very limited so I have to be creative with the sewing and craft projects. I rely on donations of fabric and other craft supplies.
