I have an intelligent, brave and vibrant group of 5th graders who come from diverse backgrounds and cultures. They are part of a school with a large population of 2nd language learners and a high instance of poverty. My students have a hunger for learning each day and get excited for our many project-based assignments. They approach each new challenge with a growth mindset, understanding that hard work will result in a bigger pay-off. You can often hear kids tell each other to keep trying and never give up, even when faced with struggles. My students' positive attitude and work ethic make me proud each and every day as their teacher.
