My students come from diverse backgrounds, which adds to the depth and richness of our International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. Our global curriculum encourages our students to see past themselves and into their community, country, and world. I am consistently amazed by what these 2nd graders are capable of when given the time and resources to be creative, research, and explore the world around them. I am also a teacher of gifted students and often times, they are only limited by the tight timeline of the school day and limited access to resources. This year, I started an after school club for my students called Genius Hour, where they can work on their own Passion Projects. I have anywhere from 10 to 15 students attend each week and one problem is the limited access to computers. In Genius Hour, my students are researching, creating, and publishing their products to share with the world. It has been an inspiration and frustration as limited technology is a deterrent.
