Currently, we only have enough drums for less than half of the class to play which means we have to team up (which doesn't work on the smaller drums) or they have to take turns when we play songs. The students get frustrated because of course, they'd all like to have their own drum so they all can play together. There are so many concepts we learn throughout the year from steady beat, rhythm, dynamics, form, etc. which can be performed and practiced on tubano drums and djembes. With these new drums, all students will be able to be involved and play together creating a chance to bond through music. Drumming is such a therapeutic way to release energy and studies show the importance of drumming in the music classroom. I would love to offer this opportunity to my students. Please consider donating to this worthy cause!
