My students are seventh and eighth graders in downtown Indianapolis. Our school is a science, technology, engineering and mathematics magnet effectively serving students who live in high poverty households. Ninety percent of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Through innovative programs, we are showing some of the most rapid growth in the state as measured by standardized test score improvement. STEM projects like this one are assisting my students.
