The young men that I teach are great kids who are trying to figure out where they belong in life. They are all capable of being successful students, but obstacles in their lives have led them to doubt their ability. These young men struggle with gang affiliation, drug/alcohol use, and peer pressure. They live in an environment that is not conducive to academic success and, for many, they will be the first in their family to graduate from high school. They are a smart, funny, talented group of young men who want to know that they are not alone in their struggles.

About my class
