A classroom environment filled with necessary tools and supplies is essential to having an engaged and enriching learning experience. This project is asking for items that will enhance our classroom environment and provide more resources for students to access. Updating our classroom library with new books for current students helps transform reluctant readers into lifelong readers. New books will provide a broader range of topics for students to chose from giving them opportunities to try a book they have never read before. Giving students access to more books will encourage them to read more and be more adventurous in their choice of book. Books are not the only essential piece of a classroom. Having flexible seating makes learning more accessible for so many students. The one wobble seat I already have in my classroom is sought after and has helped so many students become more focused and engaged. Adding three more wobble seats to our classroom will give even more students the opportunity to be present in the lesson or activity even if they have difficultly staying focused or sitting still. Materials to build with are so important in our STEAM school. Having some materials that we can reuse like the magnetic blocks will allow us more opportunities for hands-on problem solving and learning. These blocks can also be used as part of STEAM bins where students are challenged to build specific things or in our maker space where creativity is unlimited. Each of the items in this project directly contribute to students being engaged and to enriched learning experiences.
