At our school, every family had to go through the effort to apply. We have no transportation so families must dedicate themselves to our school. Every child should have a book that speaks to them, that feels like it was written just for them, that sets fire to their mind and heart and soul. I remember mine. Do you? Eighth grade is such a formative year. A year of transition and growth, and of setting out on the road to finding oneself. One foot in childhood and one foot in adulthood, these students are creating habits that follow them throughout high school and beyond: studying, reading, analyzing, expressing, sharing. Having inspiring and relevant books is the key to success. I am building a classroom library that will serve each and every one of my 110 students as they transition to high school and beyond.
