My students are so eager to learn - they are six and seven years old and learn best with hands on learning. They don't get the chance of many hands on experiences outside of school because we live in a very low income district and families can't afford to provide many opportunities away from home. Our free and reduced lunch rate is 70%. I want to bring as many real live life experiences to my kids as I can. I spend a lot of my own money in my classroom, but this is a project that I can't afford. I know my kids would LOVE to watch this amazing life cycle of the chicken and it would be something they would remember for the rest of their life. I teach in a public school in a small district that has many students that are underprivileged. We have some amazing teachers at my school and I feel so fortunate to teach where I teach and send my own children to the district I teach at. I put my whole heart and soul into my class and my students and enjoy my profession.
