I currently have 14 students in Transitional Kindergarten (5 girls and 9 boys) who love to learn, play, and make friends. Every morning, students come to school happy and ready to unfold a day full of learning. During circle time, students love listening and sharing stories with peers. When I read-aloud, it is amazing how students listen attentively and begin making connections with real-life and/or other stories. Furthermore, during phonics, they like to sing the alphabet song with music from Jose-Luis Orozco (Spanish musician). They enjoy reciting the letter sounds with hand movements. While working independently, they like listening to Classical music. Lastly, during math and language art centers, students enjoy working together in building homes with blocks, counting bears, cutting and pasting, and practicing letters and numbers. In my school, Transitional Kindergarten began this year and we have few resources to ample learning opportunities.
