These basic early childhood classroom furniture will help create a more welcoming and established classroom for my students. Working with the bare minimum makes it very challenging to give young children the opportunity to actively explore materials because they do not have what all early childhood classrooms should have (shelves, book shelve, pretend play area). I would for my students to have the a well organized, welcoming and exciting classroom filled with various learning materials. All children deserve the opportunity to learn in an exciting, inviting and well organized classroom. Having basic classroom furniture will help create a well rounded classroom environment for my students. Something so simple as shelves to put toys on will help facilitate an organized classroom where students can actively and independently explore toys, books and learning materials that are available to them. In a classroom filled with unique learning styles, my dream as their teacher is to offer all the learning opportunities and materials to help them reach their full learning potential. For example, a common goal that my students have on their IEP's is to improve their social skills. Having a pretend play area, equipped with a toy kitchen can help my students practice initiating with their peers and their reciprocal play skills.
