Who doesn't love a personal notebook where you can draw freely? Every student begins the school year by designing a sketchbook that I make for them with school construction paper and computer paper. We begin each art class with a 5 minute sketch; sometimes the sketch is prompted, sometimes it is not. Throughout the year, the sketchbook gets ripped, torn, and will occasionally disappear. With the folders and paper, students will be able to have a colorful sketchbook in a secure folder that will keep the sketchbook, along with current art projects, safe and easily accessible for each art class.
