I am so lucky to have such a kindhearted group of 31 students. Despite the fact my students live in poverty, they always show appreciation by giving me small tokens of gratitude. For example, several of my students bring me fruits that they pick from the trees in their backyards, or write me short letters that says something along the lines of, "I love you, Miss. Gorski!" I really lucked out with these kids, especially since this is my first year teaching so many students at the same time. My school is Title 1 funded which means my school has a high percentage of low-income families. In addition, 86% of students in my school speak English as a second language. As a result, many of my students require one on one or small group assistance. Unfortunately, since I am only one person, I cannot help all my students at the same time.
