I teach at a Title I school in a high poverty area in the Georgetown County School District. Most of the students at my school come from low income/high poverty families. This is a factor that greatly influences student learning and what makes my job of providing a positive learning environment for children that more important. My students are diverse in many ways. From learning styles to academic levels and interests, they are each unique in their own way. One thing they have in common is that they are all very ENERGETIC! This is to be expected with a group of 2nd graders, but it is certainly a variable that influences my teaching style and student learning. My students are eager learners who truly have an interest in being successful. They are excited to learn new things and to share new experiences together in the classroom.
