My students are 5- and 6-years old and love being in the classroom. They are kind and helpful and funny, and they think their teacher lives at school. They are readers and writers and thinkers. They say what is on their mind as soon as they think it, and it makes me smile. They love to share their lives with their teacher and classmates. Time is eternity to them. They get excited about everything, from a fall basket to put leaves in, to a sneaky gingerbread boy, to songs about life cycles and polar bears. They are a promising sign of our future! Our school is a place where everyone smiles because it is a happy place to be. Everyone helps each other, and no one is ever alone; and that goes for the staff as well as the students. Our room is a place where students are free to be who they are. They bring their strengths and their needs, and together we help one another achieve our goals.
