I teach in a high poverty area in which there is often minimal support at home. I have to make every minute count when my students are at school. Many of them, especially those with special needs, are below grade level in both reading and math. They benefit when they have multiple resources to assist them during lessons. Often times this is challenging because resources are limited or out of date. They have many interests and find what is available to them boring. In turn, they quickly become uninterested and discouraged. When they are able to use new resources, especially technology, their love of reading and mathematics is enhanced and motivation becomes captivating. My goal is to create life-long learners who are constantly seeking out new challenges.

About my class
