Our school is located in a poverty stricken neighborhood in Dallas, TX. Our school population includes about 800 students in grades Pre-K-5. My students are English language learners who come from homes with limited to no English proficiency. The students I serve also come from low income families. Even though they are considered at-risk students and find themselves in situation they cannot control, my students come in with determination and the will to find an experience that can only be given in a school setting.
