My class consists of 21 students, 13 boys and 8 girls, with over half of them learning English as a a second language. They are energetic and eager to learn. They are always begging me to read books and especially enjoy working on the computers. Our school is a small public school with roughly 500 students. Our population is diverse, with over 40% Hispanic and 20% Asian. Many face challenging home lives, as they come from lower socio-economic backgrounds. Our school motto is "Tigers R.O.A.R!"; and my students are R-Ready to learn, O-Obedient, A-Achievers, and R-Responsible. My students show these characteristics as they "strive to reach their maximum academic and social potential" (our student commitment). Our students are supported by a dedicated faculty and staff committed to helping students achieve both in and out of the classroom.
