My students need every opportunity to learn in and outside of the classroom. Most of the children have lived a very sheltered existence before starting school. They have not gone on family vacations and seen things outside of their local neighborhood. They need to have more real life experiences in order to increase their knowledge, help develop their vocabulary and develop their thinking skills. Field trips outside of the classroom are a wonderful way for children to learn about the world in a way that is not possible in the classroom environment.
