I work with beautiful children. They come from many different backgrounds. I have an ESL (English as second language) population. I have children from China, Japan, Mexico, and Italy. I have children who have come from prestigious pre-school programs and children who have never stepped foot into a classroom. I have a class of children who vary in home life situations. I have some children with beautiful homes and two parents with healthy marriages. I have many children though, who bounce from homes, have parents going through challenging divorces, and children who are taking care of younger siblings at the age of 5 because their parents need to work. I feel as though I'm not just their teacher, but their family.
