As part of the curriculum students test on the computers to check their understanding in books they have read independently. These tablets will help give students an opportunity to test without having to wait in the classroom for others to complete their own testing. It is also essential to help with phonics programs to help those students who still may struggle with reading independently as well as those students that English is their second language. The addition of technology would give my students a much needed boost of practice in the area of mathematics. This will help students learn math facts as well as the standards required to be ready for the next grade level by playing interactive math games in the classroom.
