The manipulatives and puzzles will enhance my students fine motor skills and enhance their focus skills. My students come from various backgrounds where some have been in an early childhood program and where some have never entered school before enrolling in my class. My class has found a love for puzzles of the few that were left by a previous teacher. We are looking for materials to sustain and lengthen my student's focus during small interest areas and enhance the quality of their fine motor skills. The sand, magnetic letters, tactile letters and puzzles will also foster conversations among students and teaching staff. These conversations will help to also build a trusting relationship between student and teacher to last the rest of the year.
