These timers will be used most often for my most vulnerable students who have a hard time working on a task for an extended period of time. With these whiteboard timers, I can create a plan with each student at the start of a task, then allow them to be more independent in getting the task done. Students will be able to write the task on the board, how long they will work on it, and even what their reward will be after the timer is up. The timer can also be used to keep track of their break time once they have e The use of these whiteboard timers will allow many of my students to become more independent. With one teacher trying to manage 20-30 students in a room, it is chaos trying to keep track of how long each student should be working on a task or how long their break should be. These timers will empower students to keep track of their own plans more closely and give them a good visual reminder as well. In addition to supporting my students in achieving their academic goals, the timers can be used for behavior goals as well. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, I have several students who have a hard time keeping their mask on for the entire period. I would love to use these timers to help students manage their own mask breaks (e.g. wear your mask for 10 minutes, then you can take a break for 3 minutes)!
