The materials that were chosen are specifically designated to meet the needs of the diverse students I have in my classroom. The materials will help create a calming learning environment to reduce anxiety, depression and help sensory needs to reduce stress as the students learn 21 century skills. These materials should have an impact of student progress both academically and socially. The resistance bands are used to release built up energy children can hold in their bodies throughout the school day. The kinetic sand is a favorite to allow the mind a break from the stressors of school. The light filters help students focus on classwork and creates a calming environment.
