I am moving grade levels next year and will be teaching ELA to a group of 40 third graders for the first time. I have built an extensive classroom library over the years and spent close to or over $1,000 collecting high interest and accessible books for first and second graders. However, they do not meet the needs of third graders. With new books, my students will have a variety of genres to choose from and diverse characters to connect with. The best way to help my students grow as young readers is to put books in their hands that are high interest and engaging. The books selected for this project will do just that!
