In my career, I have not taught a group of students more dedicated to the art of music. These students perform and compete at extremely high levels, do it with a minimum budget, and never with a diminished spirit. Their passion and determination is consistently inspiring. The district in which we work does very little to help in the way of repairs, supplies, trips, etc. Many of our students do not have many means to buy instruments or pay for trips, so all that we have, we must fundraise for. As these kids consistently win championships, in competition, and receive Superior ratings in performance, their lack of funding does not at all lessen their resolve to succeed or their joy in music.
