The UNO games and Scrabble Jr. games will provide my third grade students with the opportunity to practice playing games together. They will be developing social skills such as taking turns, encouraging others, and good sportsmanship. The games will also help them build problem solving and strategy skills. Finally, the Scrabble Jr. games will enhance vocabulary skills. Giving my third graders the chance to practice these skills will spill over into their everyday interactions with one another. Vocabulary will increase, and students will encourage one another. Students will learn to enjoy the playing of the games beyond just the winning.
