If my project is funded with Time 4 Kids, students can learn about real-world treasures. Students can compare and contrast their lives to students' lives around the world. My students can use what they are learning in social studies and science to make connections to their reading. In reading, students can identify text features and understand how authors use text features to help the authors in their writing. Students may also gain better scores on our MAPS Reading tests as my second graders will be introduced to nonfiction texts. This is an area where some students struggle to excel.
