My students are within that awkward year of 6th grade, where they are struggling with staying within their childhood and being pulled into the direction becoming adults. They are beginning to think about the world around them and how, not only, it affects them but how they are going to affect it. They do not just rely on parents or even teacher to hand them information, but they question the world around them and seek answers beyond just what is defined as the curriculum.
