Hearing sounds in words is a very important part of learning how to read. Most students automatically just hear the different sounds in words and can distinguish the order in which they hear them. This skill easily helps them connect the visual picture of the letter to the letter sound which in turn supports them with the process of learning to read words. The students that I work with struggle with this skills. It's a very difficult skill to teach and requires a lot of practice. This is why my students really need a computer program that supports them in their phonemic awareness development. This program is call EAROBICS. I would need the clinical/school version in order to meet the needs of all the students that would truly benefit from this program.
