At my High School we have a very diverse student population with many different ethnic cultures. Students have physical education every other day in our school. The area we are located in is a dense city area where students are kept inside because of safety and the lack of large parks with fields of grass for children to play. Students spend many hours indoors. They are also using very old equipment that most of the time is broken from years and years of use. Students are eager to be active and try new games. We struggle with playing new games because of the lack equipment. I want my students to experience the excitement being active and have fun all while getting healthier. New heart rate monitors will give us the opportunity to measure our heart rate in many different games that encourage physical activity.
