My elementary school is 85% free and reduced lunch students. Many of the students in our classrooms do not have access to technology in their home settings because of high poverty rates. By introducing technology in my first grade classroom, it will keep students on track and give them a glance of what they can accomplish with technology. A lot of people underestimate what first-graders can do with technology, I've seen firsthand what one iPad in a classroom can do. That's why am asking for 5 more and eventually hope to achieve a 1:1 device ratio.
