I work in a school where the demographic breakdown is drastically different from that of a typical school in the state of Massachusetts and the other schools in Framingham. 52.4% of our student population is identified as Hispanic, 31.6% of our student population is white with less than 7% of Asian, Black and bi-racial students. 62% of our students participate in free or reduced price lunch program and we have a high percentage of English language learners. We are fortunate to have a culturally diverse student body with a school theme of Sharing One World. In my first grade classroom I have 22 eager learners. Students come from different culture capitals and teach their peers and teachers new things every day. My class is creative and enjoys being challenged. They are easily motivated but have limited experience using technology. I believe these iPads can open the doors to new learning activities and experiences.
