My 6th graders are amazing kids. They are super curious and meet every challenge with determination and grit. Almost all of my children come from a small city in Northern New Jersey. Although we are dedicated to giving them the best academic instruction that we can, sometimes, the most memorable learning experiences happen outside of the classroom. During our time at PBC, my students will learn valuable life skills through challenges. By conquering their fears and completing new activities, such as canoeing and rock climbing, they will not only gain self-confidence, but they will build teamwork and leadership skills. They will also learn how to be good stewards to the environment through hiking and environmental education. However, the most important part of this trip is giving my students the ability to forget about any of the stresses that they have at home, and just be kids. Listening to them giggle with their teammates as they play tag, and cheer each other on as they climb a tall tree or wall is priceless. This trip will give my students memories that will last them a lifetime as well as skills that will help them to be successful in life as adults.
