Using larger items and objects that are shaped the with safe edges will allow them to participate willingly and reduce tactile defensiveness. The student will be able to reach out and find objects requested based on touch. These items also pair well with the light boxes that the students use which will make them easier to locate. With newer more up to date materials the students would be more eager to participate at the various stations.
