My students are digital natives of technology. They have spent their entire life interacting with and using technology. However when they come to the art room the equipment and materials that we use do not reflect the current possibilities within art making Artist of today and in the future will not only use technology to create digital portfolios, sell their work, but also in actual art making using technology. I would like to make sure that my students receive the most well rounded education possible. This would have to include learning how to use the power of technology in their artistic journey. For my students to compete in our global society they need to be aware of current art-making practices and how the technology that they are surrounded by can be used to go beyond the limitations of their drawing skills. Digital art is only limit by imagination . I want my students to see that technology is a tool that they can use, even in the art class.
