The items that I am requesting are needed to help in creating a literacy rich environment that will include learning stations, which will be designed to increase student achievement and academic success in English Language Arts.
The laminator and pouches will be used to create learning materials to be used by students while working in various learning stations, geared towards different learning styles and interests. In addition, they will be used to create labels for supplies in the classroom to make them more durable. Lamination will ensure that the materials can be used over and over again which will save time from recreating the materials and reduce waste as they will last through many uses.
The donations to this project will help to give my students engaging and meaningful literacy activities. By implementing a literacy enriched environment, my students will have the opportunity to enhance understanding of concept of print and word, linguistic and phonemic awareness as well as vocabulary development and extension while enjoying lesson materials designed to meet individual learning needs and interests. We will use these materials to aid us in the process of becoming life-long learners with an enriched literacy background.
As a teacher, I understand the importance of children interacting with print/texts both individually and with the teacher to develop and extend their understanding of the functionality of literacy. I truly need and appreciate your support to make this a reality. Thank you!
