Adding brightly colored, NEW and CLEAN, rugs to my classroom will greatly enhance the learning environment of my VERY old and dull classroom. New rugs will encourage my students to lounge around the room with a favorite book, getting lost in a new adventure or learning new facts about a favorite animal. New rugs will brighten up the classroom as well as the minds of the readers who will enjoy them. With new rugs, I will be more inclined to invite my students to "carpet time" for a favorite read aloud or quick mini-lesson, without grunts and grumbles about the uncomfortable, dirty carpet.
