Team sports allow students to see that they are part of something larger than themselves. I am the athletic director at a high school in Northern California, a grade 9-11 charter school in an urban area that serves students interested in the fields of Aviation and Business. Our students are high poverty and high need and we are in an athletic league for the first time in our 3-year history. Our students are hard-working and driven but are often denied basic things that many high schools are able to buy without hesitation.

About my class
