I know how hard it is for me to sit still and focus, so my hope is that this project will allow my students to have flexible seating in our classroom giving them choices of different seating options to where they can sit and learn in a seat of their choice. With flexible seating choices, it is my intention to try to reach those students that have a hard time focusing on their work. Hokki stools and balance ball chairs are two options I've researched and seem to be appropriate choices for those students needing some movement to keep them focused. I allow my students time each day to silent read a book of their choice, so the bean bag chair would be a great addition to our reading corner. My students also buddy read on a daily basis and I think the go anywhere chairs are perfect for that! In my opinion, giving students a choice allows them to take ownership in what they're doing, therefore it is my hope they will be more focused and better able to learn. I know that when my students walk into our classroom and see all the different choices of places to sit and learn they will be overjoyed and eager to jump right in! Please help me get my "Students on the Move" this year!!
