My students attend class regularly, participate, and work hard. In general, the school is known to be academically challenging. It has a very successful IB program and and welcomes, and encourages, a diverse student body. Most of the students belong to middle or upper-class families and thus the majority are expected to have relatively easy access to the computers and the Internet. However, like in many cases, the minority, which are the underprivileged students, is often overlooked. Though us teachers assign homework that require computers, we forget that many students do not have internet access due to financial reasons. These students are less likely to achieve at the tasks I assign and unable to improve at the rate as their peers. In order to give every student an equal opportunity to succeed in my classroom, each one of them needs to be able to work on computers.
